EQUIPMENT

Please bring clean exercise clothing and fresh socks to class, but you will not need trainers. However, the equipment listed below is vital and you will not be able to attend class without it!

Required equipment

Please try to have all of these by your 4th class -

Yoga mat
High density foam yoga brick
, approx. 22cm x 7cm x 13cm
Yoga strap, 2.5m long, cotton webbing
Hand towel (it's important this is a hand towel)

Temporary equipment

For your first few classes only, however, you can if necessary bring these as substitutes -

Bath size towel
Paperback book
, 2"/6cm inch thick
Dressing gown belt/long scarf
Hand towel
(it's important this is a hand towel)

Recommended suppliers

Mats and bricks are available from a number of suppliers, including Yoga-mad, Ruth White Yoga and Yogamatters. Please check the quality and texture of the mats in use in class before purchasing one. The sort of mat needed to perform the exercises effectively is sturdy and sticky. If in any doubt, speak to Chris.

We recommend the 2.5m strap from Yoga-mad.

John Lewis have a good selection of hand towels.

Good general suppliers are Yogamatters, Ruth White Yoga, Yoga-mad and The Yoga Shop.

Labelling and Storage

Please label your mat, strap and brick. You may store your bricks and mats at the venues, but not your towel, strap or any other luggage such as mat bags.

Maintenance

Yoga mats may be washed at 40C, spun on a normal cycle, and left to dry in a warm room for a couple of days, turning occasionally. The strap can also be successfully washed at 40C.
