Terms of Trade: PBBA is governed by its Terms of Trade, carefully worked out as a fair way of doing things for all concerned.

Resigning correctly: As a PBBA student it is legally your business to know how to resign correctly. With changes to the UK law protecting small businesses, it is highly recommended you follow procedure to avoid friction. If you watch out for deadlines for resigning and communicate your resignation properly, then there need not be any issues. If you do find yourself in breach of contract, you cannot use ignorance of procedure to defend yourself. Please download Joining and Resigning pdf and see the table above for the deadlines.
Campaign for better future for UK small businesses.

Teachers’ Notes: You can download Teachers’ Notes 11 onwards, plus the syllabus. If you do not know the password, please ask Chris in class. For Teachers’ Notes 1-10, please give Chris £10 plus a stamped addressed envelope (250g large A4 envelope).

Swap-in: Please use the swap-in scheme to your full advantage and make the most of the flexibility offered.

Start your Pilates plan up to two weeks after the Taster: For people unable to make a start immediately after the Taster class please make this clear when paying for the Taster. There is no additional fee for a delayed start of up to two term-time weeks.

Extend short courses to complete Inaugural 10 classes: Shorter courses may be extended to complete the Inaugural Course of 10 classes. Please phone Chris Hocking to discuss: 020 7240 5922.

No refunds policy: PBBA does not give members of the school refunds on unused or unwanted classes purchased during their period of membership, nor, given the extremely generous terms of its pricing strategy and swap-in scheme, further discounts on course fees. Please also see A Very Important Question Answered.

Absence: If absent for more than three weeks during term time, please contact Chris. If your absence extends to more than eight weeks, Chris will allocate an appropriate slot for a couple of revision classes before you return to your normal level.

PBBA has procedures for joining, resigning and retaining your place. Bear in mind that it may be more suitable to retain your place for a few months, rather than lose it and go back to Level I. See Terms of Trade for more details.

Students!
We have a DVD to guide you through home practice, essential for the two long breaks over Christmas and Easter.

Chris Hocking, with the help of some of her students, explains twenty-one key stretches. “The pace is excellent – nothing is rushed and key techniques are illuminated along the way,” explains Lou Beegan, level 4 student. Geraldine, a level 3 students adds: "The DVD will definitely motivate me to do more home practice as once the session has started you are reluctant to abandon it. 45 minutes is a realistic length of time to fit into a home routine, or the DVD could easily be taken on a business trip and played on a laptop. The sequence of exercises keeps you focused rather than having to decide what comes next. The instructions are very clear and provide a constant reminder to check that you are doing the exercises correctly. It's easy to extend the exercises by using the variations we have been taught. The historical section about the fascinating building is really worth watching too."

The DVD puts an end to misremembering methods, so you’re assured of a more solid base. Aimed at levels 2 and above, the DVD is helpful to those who wish to deepen their knowledge and secure their technique. Chris encourages you to share the DVD with friends, but please don’t encourage them to practice with it unless they’ve completed level I with Chris. This is not a standalone DVD.

As an added bonus, you’ll get to learn about the fascinating purpose and life of the Old Finsbury Town Hall, plus a little bit about the vibrant, surrounding area.

Potential students: if you’re interested in purchasing the DVD to see how Chris teaches, and to look at the beautiful venue in which you’d be attending class, do call Chris on 0207 240 5922. Mail order is £17.50 plus £2.50 packaging and post.
